You're not alone in feeling this

Getting a diagnosis can feel frightening.

You might be wondering whether you need to stop doing the things you love, whether any exercise is even safe for you any more, and what you're supposed to do next. The internet is confusing. Your GP was short on time. And you're left not knowing where to begin.

"I'm scared of doing the wrong exercise and making things worse."

"I've been told to be careful, but no one told me what that actually means."

"I feel like my body has become fragile overnight."

"I don't know which movements are safe and which ones to avoid."

Here's what the science tells us

Movement is not your enemy.
It's one of your most powerful tools.

The research is clear: your bones respond to load. When muscles pull on bones and your body meets resistance, it responds by stimulating bone formation. It is not too late. Exercise is not only safe, it is essential.

The framework behind this series

Strong. Steady. Straight.

This series is built on the Royal Osteoporosis Society's three-pillar approach to exercise for bone health, the same framework used by clinicians and exercise professionals across the UK. It's exactly what I teach in my classes - strength, balance and mobility.

Strong

Bone & muscle strength

Progressive resistance training and impact work that creates the mechanical load your bones need to adapt and strengthen.

Steady

Balance & fall prevention

Targeted balance drills and coordination work to reduce your fall risk, because protecting yourself from fracture is just as important as building bone density.

Straight

Posture & spinal care

A 'spine-caring' approach to movement, covering safe technique, back muscle strengthening and the postural habits that protect your vertebrae every day.

Everything inside

What's included in Stronger Bones

A complete series covering every element of safe, effective movement for bone health, from first principles to follow-along sessions.

Safe movement workshop

An educational session covering what your diagnosis means, what the research tells us, and how to apply it practically.

Loading sessions

Workout sessions specifically focused on loading the hips and spine, the two sites most critical for fracture prevention, with progressive resistance.

Optional impact for bone density

Carefully programmed impact work to generate the ground reaction forces your bones respond to. Graduated, safe, and effective. Alternatives offered.

Balance drills

Specific exercises for falls prevention, improving your coordination, reaction time and confidence in movement.

Core & stability

Core exercises designed around spinal safety, building the deep stability that supports everything else you do.

Posture & mobility

Postural awareness, back extension work and mobility movements to help you move safely and efficiently every day.

Bone-friendly warm-ups & cool-downs

Dedicated warm-up and cool-down sessions designed specifically with bone health in mind. No guessing needed.

10-minute mobility sessions

Standalone short sessions for rest days to improve posture and help you move with ease.

This series is for you if…

You've been diagnosed and you don't know where to start.

You don't need to already be fit. You don't need equipment beyond weights and resistance bands. You just need clear guidance, evidence-based programming, and someone who understands exactly what you're navigating.

Anna teaching a fitness class

Your instructor

Hi, I'm Anna

For the past three years I've been teaching fitness classes specifically for people over 50, and many of the people who walk through the door have already been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia. Modifying and adapting for them is something I do every session. Bone health is something I care deeply about, and I've spent a lot of time making sure I understand the research so I can translate it into movement that actually helps.

The Stronger Bones series brings together what the research tells us and translates it into something clear and usable, a few times a week, at home, at whatever level you're starting from.

My teaching approach is always the same: encouraging and evidence-based. We start where we are and we build challenge gradually.

Common questions

Things people ask us

Is this safe if I have severe osteoporosis?

The series is designed with bone health considerations built in. However, please always check with your GP or specialist before starting a new exercise programme, particularly if you have vertebral fractures or have been given specific movement restrictions by a clinician. The course includes guidance on what to approach with care and how to modify where needed.

Do I need any equipment?

You'll benefit from weights or resistance bands, and a sturdy chair for balance work. No gym required. Everything is designed for home use.

I'm very new to exercise. Is this suitable for beginners?

Yes, the series starts with technique and confidence, and builds progressively from there. You don't need any prior exercise experience.

Can I do this if I've had a fracture?

Please discuss with your medical team first, especially if the fracture is recent. Individual circumstances vary and your clinician's advice takes priority.

How long will I have access?

You'll have ongoing access to all content so you can revisit sessions and progress at your own pace.

Your bones are waiting to respond to you.

You have far more agency over your bone health than you may realise. This is the beginning of a more intentional chapter, not the end of doing the things you love.
